3/18/2022 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Moonee Valley, Alister Clark Night

Nighttime racing heads back to Moonee Valley on Friday night, where it’s Alister Clark’s Fairy Night. The weather is fine, the rails are good (4) and the rails are in the correct position of the whole circuit.

Race 1. (18:15) Ladbroke It (rs0mw) 1200m

Back to me

Looks like a race in two but I’m leaning towards the first starter 3 Foujita Sun (Bet now: $3.60). The Hawkes are coached by Maurice’s son, who is making his debut after a strong leap win at Flemington, where he has the pace and push to win and win well. I think he’s a bet on two favorites.

Danger

1 Zam Lamborghini (Bet now: $1.80) was the favorite and right odds so after a dominant debut win at Ballarat where he took the lead and beat them, even though he beat camels. I think the first Hawkes starter has talent so it won’t be an easy race for the favorites, but he’s clearly likeable.

Long shot

7 Bohemian Daisy (Bet now: $9.50) should fit 1200m max for Annabel Neasham. This girl went on to run over 1000m straight down Flemington and worked the route pretty well without being threatening. I think the 200m suits and stables should be respected with their minors.

Circuit 2. (18:45) Steamatic (bm64) 1200m

* The above offers may be available to certain customers only.

Back to me

2 Morioka (Bet now: $3.30) on top. Chris Waller has been training simply to keep going, not racing since her strong first win at Mornington, where she looked a good thing on paper and duly saluted. A few jumps out to get ready for a comeback, Ollie sticks to the stick and will land in a plum spot after the draw.

Danger

1 liter (Bet now: $5.50) is a well-trained Person to command the respect of the Team. Lucky to run fresh at Stawell but what I like is that as the race gets deeper she plays better and is quite impressive in knocking them out late. Also after asking for an apprentice in the form. Just good luck from the inner gate.

Long shot

4 Defrosting (Bet now: $19.00) is the 1200m race that would suit Grahame Begg. Run over 1000m at Sandown while slowing down and finish the race without threatening behind Tycoon Humma. The trip boost that I like for her and stabilize is working well at the moment.

Race No. 3 (19:15) Charter Keck Cramer (bm70) 1600m

* The above offers may be available to certain customers only.

Back to me

7 Ayahuasca (Bet now: $3.50) on top in a two-horse race. I was hot with her in Vamos at Launceston but the market didn’t want a bar of hers and that proved true with a pretty straightforward finale. First running behind Yonce is a beauty and any hint of that pops up here, she wins.

Danger

To be 2 Eaglemont (Bet now: $2.50) final potential distribution? The first time he ran to the Maher/Eustace camp, he gave them a spanking in Ballarat, though it was more or less a hurdle challenge. The test is good here with a mare with a strong build, and being pulled wide, but he can easily blow them away again.

Long shot

4 Major Artie (Bet now: $7.50) to Melbourne after continuing on the Kenso track at Randwick, where he failed to fire a single shot behind Cape Breton. The second record is good and should press forward, look forward and bring out the cheek. His best is good enough to be dangerous here.

lap 4 (19:45) Pkf (bm64) 2040m

* The above offers may be available to certain customers only.

Back to me

1 Morty (Bet now: $5.00) to measure here. He’s got good SA form, but he’s a top laner. The race was there to win at Morphettville last time around and loved how he dug in at the end to win. Landing in a high position after the draw and asking for Richards would certainly help.

Danger

5 Captains Corelli (Bet now: $4.40) is Tuesday after a break and will be at peak fitness. I think he played quite simply at Pakenham last time after taking the lead and controlling, getting tired behind Jesta Dreama. I think the 2040m is right for him and should train hard now.

Long shot

My 3 joys (Bet now: $9.50) deserves another chance. Ran on this track/distance three weeks ago where she stopped and plus, she was straight. She is a hard mare to trust, but she loves the track and her best is definitely good enough.

Race 5. (20:15) Ladbrokes 55 Second Chall-bm70 955m

* The above offers may be available to certain customers only.

Back to me

11 Deep Explosions (Bet now: $5.00) on top. The three-year-old trained Hayes team will move on and return to racing as a motor game. Haven’t raced since October 6 when it was far from disgraced at Sell Behind a talented animal, Sudoko. Gelded and jumped out really well. This seems like a starting point for the idea.

Danger

3 Titans (Bet now: $6.50) is a jump/run style that looks great at 955m. Last time hard win over 1100m at Moe. She was there to run down but saw a lot of pressure, held them off and was too good. I like the 955m, she’s in the lead and will be hard to pass.

Long shot

8 Tycoon Humma (Bet now: $9.00) was a John McArdle who went on to compete in Sandown over 1000m, where she sat back to pace but had a well-timed run under Jamie Mott’s lead to win and take the win impressively. Drawn tough, but will sit back and warm up at this batch at the end.

Round 6. (20:45) Abell bet 1200m

* The above offers may be available to certain customers only.

Back to me

Beautiful location here from James Cummings 6 Katalin (Bet now: $3.80). She’s a reactivated and possibly rather deadly new drought tracker. Resume, hasn’t raced since New Year’s Day at Nudgee in Doomben, where she found the track too wet. Well tested and lethal in the fresh aspect.

Danger

3 Superium (Bet now: $9.00) is flying for Team Hawkes. Last time, he found the wet track at Flemington and at 62kg he did a great job behind Bermadez. He would have preferred to be on a firmer deck and with the weight reduced he is clearly bursting to win and has a big chance here.

Long shot

7 The Bopper (Bet now: $11.00) is a Kris Lees-trained sprinter who deserves another chance. I just think the 1200m on the test yard at Randwick found him a few weeks back in the lead and tired behind Gravina. Back to the firmer stance I like, he’s healthy and his previous form was strong.

Race 7. (21:15) Alister Clark bet 2040m

* The above offers may be available to certain customers only.

Back to me

This looks like it would be a relatively pleasant watch for 1 Castlereagh Kid (Bet now: $3.40). The talented galloper for WaterBott led them to dance happily in the Autumn Classic, and even allowing the winning, biased track to prevail. He can win this and establish himself as a top Derby contender.

Danger

13 El Patroness (Bet now: $4.20) looks hard to beat. Stable, after being bankrupt for a while, is flying in recent weeks, and this girl can keep it up. A lot of the credit in her Autumn Classic endeavor is behind Castlereagh Kid as she has nothing to cover for her trip against the stereotype. Really did a really good job to stay in third place. Main threat.

Long shot

7 Bon Vivant (Bet now: $9.00) is an external Castlereagh Kid from Autumn Classic that I can entertain. He lost several weeks between runs when racing in that event. Didn’t quite get the rub of the green but liked the way he finished his race. Agile and upbeat in his travels, he can be a frugal man.

Circuit 8. (21:45) Powerflo Solution (bm70) 1200m

* The above offers may be available to certain customers only.

Back to me

11 Mars Missions (Bet now: $3.40) can go either way here. He came back from the first flop and won, or he was looking for pads. His last start was at Zeditave in Caulfield, where he looked like he couldn’t handle the track at all, and I’m willing to forgive. In addition to previous wins, he takes this out.

Danger

1 red snapper (Bet now: $4.80) looks to be back on track. Three weeks between runs since winning this track/distance where he took the lead throughout and gave them a slam dunk in a pretty impressive display. Between runs is a couple of weeks, so you’d think there would be an improvement.

Long shot

3 Rock Tycoon (Bet now: $19.00) has been two weeks between runs for Nathan Hobson since racing at this track/distance when near full speed and only tiring late after the Maritana. Get the 3kg claim again and from the draw he gets a great run and is a must for the multiples.

BEST Bets: Race Six Number 6 Katalin

NEXT BEST: Race Seven Number 1 Castlereagh Kid

A long shot: Race Four Number 1 Morty
