The 5-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny will have all-wheel drive. It will confront the 5-door Mahindra Thar and 5-door Force Gurkha.
Maruti Suzuki introduced the 3-door version of the Jimny at Auto Expo 2020 and it attracted a lot of attention. Ultimately, it looks like Maruti will bring Jimny to the Indian market but it will be in a 5-door avatar. The test mule of the new SUV has been spotted on the streets of India. There is a possibility that the manufacturer may introduce a version of the production specifications of the Jimny 5 doors at Auto Expo 2023.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door: Exterior
The 5-door Jimny has been completely camouflaged, but the SUV’s boxy design features can still be seen. There are round headlights with a projection shade setup, a grille with vertical slats and a flat bonnet. In the test mule, the rear doors with square windows are clearly visible. At the rear, there are horizontal taillights in the bumper and a spare wheel mounted on the rear door.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5 doors: Cabin
Jimny’s interior is yet to be revealed but it could come with the new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that Maruti is currently using. Baleno, Brezza and Grand Vitara. Currently, the Jimny is sold in a 7-inch unit. There may also be some connected car features offered.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door: Dimensions
Suzuki has decided to increase the wheelbase of the 3-door Jimny by 300 mm, so the length of the 5-door Jimny will be 3,850 mm. The wheelbase will increase from 2,250 mm to 2,550 mm. The extra wheelbase will help provide room for the rear doors and more space for rear occupants. On the three-door Jimny, the back seat passenger has to slide the front row forward and climb up to the slightly cumbersome rear seat.

The 5-door Jimny will go head-to-head with the 5-door versions of Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha. Both are in development and testing of both new SUV models has been spotted.
