Following allegations that he cheated on his wife Behati Prinsloo and wanted to name their child after his alleged mistress, Adam Levine has spoken out.
“There’s a lot being said about me right now and I want to clear the air,” the Maroon 5 leader wrote in a statement. His Verified Instagram stories on Tuesday.
Levine writes: “I used poor judgment when speaking to anyone other than my wife in a flirtatious fashion ANYWAY. “I’m not having an affair, however, I crossed the line during an unfortunate period in my life.”
Levine broke her silence after Instagram model Sumner Stroh go viral with a Tik Tok video video in which she says she’s been dating Levine for about a year and shares Instagram messages she says are his and appear to be linked to his verified account.
“At the time, I was young, I was naive and quite frankly, I felt taken advantage of,” Stroh said.
Levine, she said, reached out to her after it was all over with a request.
“He said, ‘Ok, serious question. I am having another baby and if it [a] boy, I really want to name it Sumner,” she said, reading the alleged message aloud. “Are you Okay? It’s really DIE. ‘”
Levine and his model wife of eight years recently revealed that they are expecting their third child.
“In some cases, it becomes inappropriate; I have addressed that issue and proactively took steps to fix this with my family,” Levine wrote in her statement.
“My wife and my family are all I care about in this world. So naive and stupid that risking the only thing that really matters to me is the biggest mistake I could make,” he wrote. “I will never do it again. I take full responsibility. We will get over it. And we will get through it together.”
On Monday Stroh posted another video to share some of the things she’s looking forward to when she says her first video, including her feelings of “regret” and how she went public because a friend was trying to sell her account to a tabloid.
