Amy Schumer never shies away from being real with her fans – and this time was no different when she mentioned her mental health.
On Thursday, the 40-year-old actress shared a makeup-free selfie with Instagram and asked her followers if they experienced “anxiety breakdown” in the caption. Beside the photo, she wears a gray shirt and matching beanie, she writes:
“Hey, everyone feels like someone is sitting on their chest all the time and filled with crushing anxiety right? #tiktok #funnydogs ”
Her comment section was quickly filled with many people who agreed with the female comedian. Th-ch-see article (below):
As we mentioned before, Schumer has has long been an open book about her personal battles, whether it’s her past abusive relationships, her father’s multiple sclerosis and alcoholism, or more. Back in September Shipwreck the star even revealed that she had her uterus and appendix removed after endometriosis for most of her life:
“So the morning after my surgery for endometriosis and prolapse. The doctor found 30 spots of endometriosis that he removed. He removed my appendix because endometriosis was attacking it.”
Then she shared that real doctors found a tumor in her “endo-damaged appendix,” too, explained:
“I cry during most of the findings. I have a tumor in my appendix ravaging my endo. Chocolate cysts in both ovaries. Endometrium, [polycystic ovary syndrome] above all. All my lifelong pain has been explained and taken out of my body. I was a changed person. I am overflowing with joy because of the new energy I get from being with my son.”
As always, we have nothing but appreciation for Schumer’s honesty!
