Anthony Joshua Snaps When Asked About ‘Mate’ Dillian Whyte

Anthony Joshua had cold words for his old nemesis Dillian Whyte at his press conference for his April 1 comeback match against Jermaine Franklin.
Whyte fought Franklin last November, and when asked about that bout, Joshua made his feelings about the Brixton man pretty clear when he was called his ‘mate’.
Talking to ID BoxingJoshua replied:
“He’s not my mate.”
“I think he talks loosely – he has a lot to say. He should focus on his career.”
Joshua and Whyte locked horns in an epic British title fight all the way back in 2015culminating in a brutal knockout in the sixth round for ‘AJ.’
Since then, both men have established themselves as world-class heavyweights and are constantly talking about a potential rematch.
A second meeting looks set to take place this summer at Wembley Stadium, however, it all depends on Joshua overtaking Franklin in less than two months.
The Americans put on a good performance in the loss to Whyte, with some observers feeling that perhaps he had a hard time not getting a decision.
It was the first blemish of his professional career, and Joshua can hardly take his eyes off ‘The 989 Killer’ if he has ambitions to become a three-time heavyweight champion of the world.
Having said this, the Briton enters the competition as the favorite, and there is hope that the link with the new coach Derrick James would bring out the traits that made him so successful early in his career.
It has been suggested that Joshua has become a bit hesitant since he stopped his shock bout against Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019, and a lot of pundits have stated that the aggressive style James imparts His boxers could be the perfect remedy for this problem.
