The former Roma star’s growing status in the world means some of the biggest clubs in the world are interested in his signature.

Among them include Real Madrid, are believed to be the leaders, while Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain also want free transfers in the summer.

But former United star Paul Parker thinks the 28-year-old would be better off leaving Stamford Bridge for Old Trafford.

“If he stays at Chelsea. He was very influential and fans idolized him,” Parker told Betexpert.

“Going to Manchester United, I have to say it was an ambition. I will understand why he would and I think he will make a difference.

“If you have him next to Varane, you are talking about something different. The pace is good and you’re talking about someone who has won the World Cup, the Champions League and then you have a centre-back, who in classical terms is really a leader.

“He was literally screaming and shouting, bossing people, giving orders to people. When people don’t do it, he tells them because he himself doesn’t make that many mistakes. He keeps things simple. He will be absolutely perfect. ”

United splashed cash by bringing in Raphael Varane from Real Madrid in the summer for around £40 million.

Parker’s transfer plans will leave Harry Maguire in the cold as the Red Devils offer a world-record £80m fee for his services.

But the former United defender believes Rudiger will be the answer to his old club’s woes behind, believing it comes down to a question of ambition.

He added: “It all depends on whether he is ambitious or not. Does he want to go to Manchester United and be the difference-maker at the back?

“‘I’m the one that’s bringing them forward’ and suddenly the momentum kicks in and they start winning games and two years later they go on and win. Premier League and everyone said he was the signing that made the difference because of his poor backline. Then I’ll definitely get that. ”
