Arsenal have been linked with a move for James Maddison in the summer and could be warned again as Leicester City consider charging players cash to speed up their transfers
Arsenal can still renew their interest with Leicester City being prepared to buy James Maddison.
Foxes player is linked with a move to Emirates in the summer, but his club is not interested in selling. However, that could change now, with Leicester consider cashing out as they look to raise money for a summer refurbishment at King Power.
Brendan Rodgers inherited Maddison after the 25-year-old was signed from Norwich City for a reported £20m deal in the summer of 2018. The Englishman has been a major influence for Leicester, but will command a hefty fee that can benefit the overall look of the team.
Leicester have invested wisely since they Premier League won in 2016, but the impact of Covid means they may have to move players before they can bring in any new faces. Rodgers is looking to add a centre-back, a midfielder and a striker in the coming months, reports Daily mail.
Maddison has made 40 appearances this term, scoring 13 times, which underlines his importance, and he will have no shortage of admirers. Arsenal were keen before they signed Martin Odegaard but they also have Emile Smith Rowe on their books, which could ease their interest in the Leicester man.
The Foxes star has had an impressive year after finding more consistency in his game with the World Cup still in his sights having been previously picked by Gareth Southgate. He said above Sports sky : “It’s just to show more consistency and influence the games more. My numbers are always good, it’s just to find the consistency.
