Australian Cricket Athlete Wins “Catch Of The Summer” in Sheffield Shield. Clock

During the ongoing Sheffield Shield match between the South Australia Redbacks and Tasmania Tigers at the Adelaide Oval, all-rounder Ben Manenti made a brilliant catch to put Caleb Jewell back in the booth. The incident happened in the 11th round of Tasmania. In the fifth delivery, voted Harry Conway had one move past Southpaw Jewell, who tried to block it. Instead, however, he had a thick touchline outside, and the ball went straight between the first and second slide.

Manenti, who deployed the first slide, flew over to get the ball with one hand.

The tigers were 17 against one at the base of the tree on Day 1.

Before that, Jake Lehmann and Manenti hit 50 to lead the Redbacks to a total of 227.

After the collapse of the top order, Lehmann pounded 73 with the assist of 10 fong, while Manenti hit 59 fast, struck 4 fours and 2 sixes.

Jackson Bird and Peter Siddle each had four doubles for the Tigers, before the Redbacks came back strong.

The ongoing Sheffield Shield season kicked off earlier this month.

Queensland is currently at the top of the table after beating Tasmania in the opening match.

Western Australia is behind them in second place, having beaten New South Wales.

Meanwhile, Victoria and South Australia are third and fourth respectively, following last week’s draw.

Notably, Western Australia is the owner of the Sheffield Shield, after beating Victoria in the final last season.
