Investment.com – Australian stocks edged higher after Tuesday’s close, as gains in sectors sent equities higher.
Closed in Sydney, an increase of 1.41%.
The best performers in the session above are Pointsbet Holdings Ltd (ASX :), up 9.02% or 0.23 points to trade at 2.78 at the close. Meanwhile, Unibail Rodamco Westfield (ASX 🙂 added 6.87% or 0.27 points to finish at 4.20 and Hub24 Ltd (ASX:) rose 6.17% or 1.10 points to 18.93 by the end of the session.
The worst performers in the session were Megaport Ltd (ASX :), down 4.34% or 0.23 points to trade at 5.07 at the close. APA Group (ASX:) fell 4.03% or 0.45 points to 10.71 and GUD Holdings Ltd (ASX:) dropped 3.52% or 0.28 points to 7.68.
More stocks rose than fell on the Sydney Stock Exchange 843 to 613 and 377 ended flat.
Megaport Ltd (ASX:) shares fall to 3-year low; down 4.34% or 0.23 to 5.07. Shares of GUD Holdings Ltd (ASX:) fell to a 52-week low; down 3.52% or 0.28 to 7.68.
The index, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, fell 11.08% to 20.68.
Gold for August delivery fell 0.22% or 4.05 to $1,836.55 an ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, crude for August delivery rose 1.83%, or 1.98, to $109.97 a barrel, while August Brent crude rose 0.91% or 1. 04 to 115.17 USD/barrel.
AUD/USD was flat 0.53% to 0.70, while AUD/JPY was up 0.64% to 94.46.
The US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.32% at 103.93.
