Police confirmed that both celebrities were among 150 people detained by the Banjara Hills Police and Task Force. A top police officer at Banjara Hills police station told Hyderabad Times, “About 150 people were partying at a pub last night. Pubs are not allowed to open after midnight. A singer and actor were among those detained for drugs found on the premises. We are still questioning and have yet to file a notice of FIR. Details will be revealed soon.”
Both Rahul and Niharika was at the police station overnight with some other VIPs and received a notification from the police. Awaiting confirmation if they are involved in substance abuse. Rahul was released by police at 8am on Sunday, state reports, while Niharika was spotted leaving the station at 12pm. Blood has been taken from all the detainees for testing, and medical reports have yet to come back. In March 2020, Rahul Sipligunj was involved in an altercation at a pub in Hyderabad. As this is a developing case, more details should be awaited.
