Disneck will have an edge in racing experience over some of his Inglis Nursery rivals

A wide draw hasn’t dampened Bjorn Baker’s faith in Disneck’s chance at Inglis Nursery, though he’s wary of the unknown impact of the first five starters in the $500,000 race.

Disneck showed the benefits of racing experience when he watched the midfield effort in the Golden Gift with a 1100m victory at Rosehill last month, finishing in second place overall with a run. sweeping.

He was kept fresh when he reduced the distance slightly to 1000m in Saturday Inglis Nursery and while having to overcome an awkward draw in year 12, Baker felt the boy had the tools to adapt.

“What’s special about him is that he has a flexible racing style so he can roll forward or backward and he has pretty good bomb resistance,” said Baker.

“Last time he got out of a speed fight and was able to get out and finish.

“We’ve been pretty happy with him since then and if anything, he’s improved.”

Disneck ($6) is by former top sprinter Trapeze Artist and it’s another son of the first season king, who holds the market in the newly launched Facile ($2.10 fav).

The latter won his two hurdles trials totaling nearly eight miles, and Baker admitted that the inexperienced brigade had a hard time lining up.

“You don’t quite know what to expect from some of them and it’s always been a competitive race but our guy is progressing really well and we can’t blame him,” he said.

“He’s fun to be around and very outspoken.”

Baker will rely on Disneck and Max Lees Classic placegetter Line Of Law in Inglis Arboretum listed (1000m)with a scratched Cathay Bracelet to run at Kembla Grange.

Line Of Law showed natural pace to take the lead at launch before being given a late overhaul and was subsequently given a quiet test to adjust for Saturday’s race.

“She’s a stout person that’s sure to get better with time, but she’s got talent and she’s going to be somewhere,” Baker said.

Although restricted to horses sold through Inglis sales, the Arboretum boasts luxurious honors including first-time winner Extreme Choice (2015), golden slipper heroine She Will Reign (2016) and Group 1 performer Wild Ruler (2019).
