As we reported, the 24-year-old defender collapsed on the ground and “cardiac arrest” after entering the ball Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver hooded t-shirt. The coaches and medical staff rushed to the field and immediately gave Damar CPR. He was in critical condition at the time and had to breathe through a breathing tube. However, his group shared a positive update on Friday that “the snorkel has been removed,” adding:
“He continues to make significant progress in his recovery. His neurological function is still intact and he has been able to talk to his family and care team.”

And now the soccer player is back Instagram for the first time since the incident! Damar jumped on the platform on Saturday to thank everyone for the “huge” support he’s received over the past few days. He wrote along with some pictures of himself – including one with the “you won” saying that the doctors said when he finally woke up:
“When you put true love out into the world, it gives you 3 times as much.. Love was overwhelming, but I am so grateful to every single person who prayed for me and contacted me. We brought the world back together behind this. If you know me, you know this just makes me stronger. On a long road, keep praying for me!
Damar later posted on IG Stories a screenshot of a FaceTime call, where he can be seen wearing a wide smile. See below):
