Caleb Williams Named Honorary Starter for NASCAR Clash at Colosseum


NASCAR returns to the Los Angeles Memorial Arena on Sunday to kick off the 2023 season with Clash at the Colosseum and has a very special guest to kick things off.

Caleb Williamwho performed in the Colosseum as Trojan USC quarterback in the 2022 college football season that helped him win the Heisman Trophy, which will serve as an honorary starter.

It marks Williams’ public return to the place where he enjoyed so much success in his first year as a Trojan since moving from Oklahoma State. Williams finished with 4,537 yards of passes while completing 66.6% of his passes with 42 touchdown passes compared to just 5 interceptions. He also took 382 yards of charge and 10 more touchdowns with his feet.

The Trojans won 11-3 in their first season under Williams’ former Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley, including a perfect 7-0 record at home that ended with a win over the arch-enemy. shared Notre Dame in the USC regular season finale.

Williams won’t be the only celebrity attending Clash. Rapper Wiz Khalifa prepares to perform before the race and actor Joel McHale will be the race’s honorary announcer. Singer Gwen Stefani also joined the FOX Sports booth during the qualifiers.
