Capri Sun recalled because of 5,760 cases of cleaning solution contamination

Kraft Heinz said in a statement that cleaning solution used to treat food processing equipment was “accidentally introduced into the production line at one of our factories.” The problem was discovered after receiving “several consumer complaints” about the taste of the product.

The company did not disclose the total number of bags that were recalled. However, each case has four cartons of 10 bags each for a total of approximately 230,000 individual bags that could be affected.

Here’s how to find out if your Capri Sun has been recalled: Look for a “Best When Used By” date of June 25, 2023 on each 6.6-ounce bag. Meanwhile, Kraft (DIFFERENT) said it is “actively working” with retailers to remove “potentially affected products from circulation.”

Customers with products can return them to the store. Kraft says people shouldn’t drink them.

Earlier this week, about 13,000 pounds of frozen pizza Made by Home Run Inn Frozen Foods has been recalled for possible metal contamination.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said in a statement Sunday “possibility of contamination with unrelated materials, especially metals.”
