Centre to set up digital university with multiple entry-exit frameworks: Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan

NEW DELHI: The Center is in the process of setting up a digital university in India to promote education and skills development and will come up with frameworks related to this, Education Minister, skills development and entrepreneur Dharmendra said Pradhan on Tuesday.
“NEP 2020 envisions skills and education as one. We are shaping a digital university with multiple input and output frameworks along with an academic credit bank. Industry needs to adopt these policy reforms and flexible frameworks,” said the minister, speaking at the ’13th Global Skills Summit – Educating for Workability: Making it a realistic’.
He added, “India is blessed with a demographic dividend. Education and skills must play an important role in transforming our demographic dividend into a transformative power.”
Highlighting the advantages of India in the next 25 years, Pradhan said that there is no other country in the world with such great purchasing power, aspiration and purchasing power. “India’s domestic fundamentals are strong and although CovidIndian economy maintains a growth rate of 7 to 8% and is moving towards double digit growth”.
He went on to say that leveraged skills are needed to increase employability, profit demographics, and make “our skills ecosystem more vibrant.” “For India to be more productive and resilient, we must make our workforce more qualified and skilled. The simplification of the labor code and the Apprenticeship Act have revitalized our workforce. Pradhan said we are working on more reforms to make our workforce more productive.
