Cetinje shooting: 11 killed in gun attack in Montenegro

According to Montenegro Police Chief Zoran Brdanin, the shooter first attacked a family living in his house as tenants.

“He killed two children aged 8 and 11 with a shotgun, and wounded their mother,” said Bradanin.

“He then went out into the street and used the same rifle to shoot the other inhabitants of this settlement.”

One witness told the RTCG that the shooter “shot people indiscriminately as he crossed the street.”

Authorities said they had identified the attacker – believed to be a 34-year-old man – and his rampage ended when he was shot dead by a civilian.

The head of the Clinical Center of Montenegro Ljiljana Radulovic said that three of the injured victims are in hospital in critical condition.

Montenegro President Milo Đukanović tweeted on Friday that he was “deeply shaken” by the news.

“I extend my sincerest condolences to the bereaved, to all those who have lost loved ones. We all as a society must stand in solidarity with them during these difficult times,” Đukanović said. on Twitter.
