Chris Eubank Jr settles Liam Smith rematch clause

Chris Eubank Jr and Liam Smith is a great domestic bout between two expert boxers.
Although many in the sport believe it to be a chosen scenario, Eubank Jr has been credited with only needing 50% performance to beat Smith.
While most people would recognize them as mind games like the ones played before the battle of Conor Benn, which has now been cancelled, part of the contract is reducing his efforts to understand Smith.
It was revealed that, if Eubank loses, he has a rematch option that will be his pick to trigger. Smith, perhaps so, used this to assert that the Brighton boxer isn’t as confident as he appears to be in front of the camera.
Eubank said Sports sky that the terms of the contract ‘make no sense’.
“Oh my God – you didn’t talk about the rematch clause either, did you? Look, Liam’s talk was a terrible one before the fight. Don’t get sucked into all that.
A rematch clause means absolutely nothing. It’s part of the business. In every big game there is always a rematch clause. My promoters put that in just because that’s what advertisers do – they make sure they cover all bases.”
“He wanted to use that as a thing to say ‘well if I’m that easy then why do you have a rematch clause?’ Remove the rematch clause if it pleases you.
I don’t care about that, it’s completely unrelated. On January 21, Sky Sports Box Office, Liam Smith will get a serious lesson.
The pair met at a very important stage in their careers, and a win for either of them would put them in good standing for a world title.
While Eubank has the option of a rematch if he finds himself tasting defeat in January, on the other hand, Smith has stated that it will be an extremely difficult loss for him as Eubank is the ‘kind of personality’.
The match will take place at Manchester’s AO Arena and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports box office.
