Don’t expect Chris Rock to talk about controversies Oscar slap again until he gets something – some cash in his pocket!
According to Palm Springs Desert Sun57-year-old comedian speaking to a live audience at The death of the ego showed in Indio, California, on Friday night that he will no longer talk about what happened at Academy Award until he is compensated. At that time he said:
“I’m fine, I’ve got a gig, and I won’t talk about it until I get paid. Life is good. I got my hearing back.”
Instead of talking about the scandalous slap now, the outlet reports that he has been rolling out a lot of jokes about other celebrities such as Kardashians, Meghan Markleand Hillary Clinton.
It’s not clear what Chris meant by being “paid” to talk about the controversy. Maybe he’s talking about sitting down with a net? Apparently, he knew he could be a banker because everyone wanted to hear more from him! Or perhaps something more serious like a lawsuit against Will where he can get some money? Or maybe he’s just joking outright? Who knows! But considering that Chris is doing his stand, chances are it’s just a joke!
Not like his brotherthe Madagascar the actor didn’t fully address the moment Will Smith slapped him in the face for making a joke Jada Pinket Smithshaved head. So it will be interesting to see what he has to say on the matter when he finally does so. During his indie gig in Boston, Chris first expressed that he’s still ‘processing’ the whole thing, saying at the time:
“I am still processing what happened. So at some point, I’ll talk about that. It will be serious. It will be very funny, but right now I will tell a few jokes. ”
Later, an audience member claimed that he mentioned the attack again during his Atlantic City performance. However, this time, he decided to make jokes about it. Eyewitnesses tell Tonight’s reception:
“Chris’ show started very late due to the no cell phone policy. There was a line of people running all over the casino to see that show. Chris Rock opened his show by saying he’s had an interesting week. He said he is still processing the encounter and plans to address it further in the future…”
But Chris added that because the show was in Atlantic City, he was “joking about Atlantic City being too close to Philly for him to be in.” Gosh!
Time will tell if Chris decides to tackle the slap again! What do YOU think, longtime readers? Turn off the sound in the comments below).
