Do-it-yourself holiday hair and makeup:

♡ Shawn’s HAIR

Hi! I’m Shawn and I styled Lauryn’s hair while she was in San Diego. We’ve known each other…8 or 9 years, huh? She always loves fun styles and is clearly one of my favorites!

Tools used:

+ Bio flat iron

+ Bioionic long barrel styler 1 inch curler

+ Wet Brush 4-in-1 hair styler

+ obvious elasticity

Products used:

+ Tigi BedHead Hair Wax

+ Oribe super fine hairspray

To get this sleek look, I started by straightening Lauryn’s hairline. Since we’re pulling half of her hair up and want it to be shiny, we want them to be as smooth as possible.

The next step is to cut the part of the hair that you will braid. I usually like to keep track of where your brow ends. Starting from the ears pull up and following this will help to lift the face.

The ponytail should be right on top of the head. It’s okay to step back a bit. Before securing it with a clear elastic, I used the best ever. You may have seen it go viral on TikTok. The Tigi .’s BedHead hairpin. It’s a pomade that has a stick consistency & helps you smooth out those stubborn little hairs. I also use a boar bristle comb to brush and flatten my hair. I also found the 4-in-1 WetBrush Edge Styler to be used for detailed styling, taming flight lines, and smoothing edges in a natural, relaxed, and braided style. It’s great!

I also used hairspray to help deal with any flight lines. Once that was in place, I used my favorite curling iron that I used to use. The Bioionic 1-inch barrel styler. I also like that it doesn’t go over 400 degrees since such a high temperature is not needed.

We also created waves from the middle to the ends of Lauryn’s hair. Then with a wide tooth comb, I gently brush them out to break them up a bit. Finish with some texture spray and hairspray. So it’s sleek with a small body with waves! Sexy but fun.

First I start with face massage that Lauryn is obsessed with. I’ve used Vitamin C Rose Oil from Biossance. Once the oil has been absorbed, I apply Veil Hourglass Primer towards the center of the face out, then I switched to Brows.

Lauryn already has some pretty eyebrows as she is now; I used light brown and light brown Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyebrow Powder & paint only in front and a little towards the end to lengthen/straighten and give her brows a little more strength.

then i used Elf’s Camo Concealer is quite warm color with one flat brush To clean under the eyebrows to create a lifting effect.

Fun fact: the Elf concealer I used was an almost exact dupe for Tarte videotapehere’s another product that Lauryn dug up recently.

Honestly, we kept her eyes pretty minimal. I used the smallest amount of one Charlotte Tilbury bronzer in 1 – a cooler-toned highlighter to grace her eyes, and create a shimmery shade (Makeup by Mario Master Quartz Crystal Reflector) in her inner corner to widen her eyes and add that little glow.

For the lashes, I used my super-loved lashes lately, which are from Ardell nude range in 421. They’re full but still flimsy and look like they could be her own. They are extremely comfortable to wear because of the clear band. To finish off the eyes and make them live on the edge, I used a bit lip balm on her eyelids for a wet shadow effect.

One of my favorite parts of glamor is SKIN… because we let the oil and primer soak into her skin, then I started with Hollywood’s Flawless Filter in the Shade 3 by Charlotte Tilbury on the high points of her face. This product has some skin care benefits but also brings “inside glow” to the skin.

Then I went in with a much deeper shade Camo Concealer around the edges of the face (forehead, cheekbones, jawline and down the neck) to contour and contour the face. I then go in with two lighter concealers (ice cream brûlée and Honey by Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer) and took a pearl-sized amount of Hourglass primer again to mix it with concealer ~~ sounds weird but trust me, this was our wedding day saving grace . It totally makes her face water resistant! More on that later…

I redecorated her face with Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder with shades first & 2. Then I used Charlotte Tilbury’s contouring powder (2) to contour her face. I love the way her smooth and buttery dough works.

To add a bit of sharpness to her already amazing cheekbones, I used some KKW highlighter in color #3. KINDLY BACK TO MAKEUP! Other options for that shade would be Hoola Light by benefit, Kevin Aucoin Sculpture Powder in Mediim which I also love.

When it comes to Lauryn’s lips, I use KKW nude 1 liner again. It has stopped working. The same shade would be Stripdown using a Mac or Charlotte Tilbury’s Iconic Nudity. I polish the liner with a brush and then use a little Laneige sleeping mask all above for hydration and shine.

For the last touches, we did giant lipstick, got2b . eyebrow geland spray setting.

We hope you enjoyed this holiday makeover and hairdo step by step. Any occasion really. Be sure to follow Shawn and Ryan on IG @styled.byshawn & @ryancrociante.
