Cricket player Murali Kartik brings home the MG ZS EV SUV SUV

Indian cricketer and former cricketer Murali Karthik has brought home the new MG ZS EV SUV. The stellar pitcher posted a photo on social media of himself while receiving his new treasured possession, adding that he is “looking forward to some tram rides and memorable journey.” The MG ZS EV is an all-electric SUV and costs from $22.98 lakh (old gallery) onwards.

The MG ZS EV facelift is launched in 2021 and comes with functional and aesthetic upgrades. The model gets a new closed-back grille, revised bumpers, slimmer headlights, LED daytime running lights and new LED taillights. The 17-inch alloy wheels are also new to the SUV. Much of the cabin remains the same, but now there’s fake carbon fiber trim on the dashboard while the climate controls are upgraded to the same as on the Astor. The ZS EV is the electric equivalent of the Astor, but the upgrade has made the previous model more distinct in terms of styling.

MG also introduced more features on the facelifted ZS EV including a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that replaces the older 8-inch unit. There’s a 7-inch digital instrument panel, panoramic sunroof, i-Smart connected car technology, wireless charging, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 360-degree camera. ZS EV equipped with ADAS offers safety aids such as rear steering assist with blind spot detection, lane change assist, cross-traffic alert, etc. Safety features also include six airbags, downhill control, TPMS, ESC, etc
The upgraded MG ZS EV draws its power from a 50.3 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 461 km (ICAT tested) on a single charge. Power comes from an electric motor mounted on the front axle tuned for 174 hp and 280 Nm of torque. The SUV can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 8.5 seconds. The ZS EV competes with the newly launched Hyundai Kona Electric, Tata Nexon EV Max and Mahindra XUV400 in the segment.
