DALL-E’s AI Art Generator is now (sort of) available to everyone

You do not have to join a queue to try OpenAI’s famous image generator. Companies have reduce waiting list for the DALL-E beta, making the technology available to everyone. If you want to create artwork, you simply sign up (if you can get past the authentication glitch that exists as we write this) and start describing the works you want to produce.

The wider release comes after OpenAI expanded both DALL-E’s features (such as “Outpainting” to extend beyond the borders of the original image) and, importantly, some important protections. important. The company claims it has a “stronger” ability to filter content that violates policies, including some depictions of sex and violence. The developer framework currently in beta should also include the AI imager in third-party apps.

This public launch does not answer some key questions. It’s not clear whether the art is AI-generated fair use or stolenfor example – Getty Images and similar services available banned materials for fear it might infringe copyright. While this expansion would be welcome, it could test some legal limits.
