Dead Space remake will be better in the dark after the upcoming update

A fix for Dead Space VRS issues is coming soon, although there’s no exact release date for the shared patch yet. The game’s implementation of VRS can cause a surprising lack of detail in some textures.
VRS, variable rate shadow, is an allocation process the processing of the graphics card on many parts of the image. This allows the GPU to use more processing power on complex parts of the render and less on simpler parts. The use of VRS remake in Dead Space caused some visual issues. Objects or textures that appear in the shadows have significantly less visual detail than illuminated models or other objects in the foreground. In theory, this is fine, but for a horror game that takes place largely in the dark, it can be distracting.
The problem even shows up on PC and there is no option to disable VRS. For those of you who haven’t played the game or haven’t noticed any issues yet, Digital Foundry’s John Linneman pointed out the problem and shared a few examples of it. Twitter.
For those curious, here’s what VRS does with picture quality on the PS5. The actual resolution is much higher (look at Isaac) but VRS makes the shaded areas essentially lose most of their detail. pic.twitter.com/Qx9uEyTWzz

This patch will also provide an option to disable VRS on PC.” The statement also clarified that “there is no ETA yet.”
In other Dead Space news, an easter egg in the remake could indicate Final release of Dead Space 2 remake.
