Delhi LG orders AAP to pay Rs 97cr for ‘misuse of govt funds for political ads’ | Delhi News

NEW DELHI: Deputy Governor of Delhi VK Saxena on Tuesday directed the chief secretary to withdraw Rs 97 crore from Party Aam Aadmi (AAP) for political ads published as government ads.
The LG guidelines allege that the ruling party violated the 2015 Supreme Court orders, the 2016 Delhi HC order & the 2016 CCRGA order.
In just-concluded civic polls, the AAP succeeded in dethroning the BJP from the election. Delhi Municipal Corporation after 15 years. AAP overcame the majority to secure 134 seats out of 250; BJP won 104 seats.
