Diablo 4 developer Blizzard Entertainment will hold a closed beta for a new action role-playing game focusing on the game’s endgame, it announced on Monday. Blizzard says the “secret” closed beta test will be playable in 2022 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Public beta, open to everyone , scheduled for early 2023.
For the secret text, Blizzard says it will be selecting a select number of players who have recently played a lot of late-game content in Diablo 2: Resurrection and Diablo 3. Interested players must opt-in to receive communication updates from Blizzard by October 11 to receive any potential invites. Blizzard has yet to say exactly when the closed beta will begin. Diablo 4 Late game content includes a nightmarish difficulty event known as Helltide, where the player can battle stronger enemies to obtain very valuable booty; Nightmare Dungeons, which are extremely difficult dungeons with special modifiers for more specific challenges; Whispers of the Dead, quests with rewards for completing various quests around the world; The realm of Hate, the cursed PvP zone; and Paragon Boards, a “character development system” that unlocks after level 50.
