Doja Cat’s Versace Collection for the 2022 Grammy Awards was inspired by Marilyn Monroe

Work with Brett Alan Nelson, the pop star’s creative director and stylist, to achieve the breathtaking look, the Versace team spent 300 hours creating the dress and another 175 hours hand-embroidering the details. “Brett and I have a great creative connection, where we exchange ideas and he always goes overboard,” the “Say So” singer said of their partnership.

The finished products? A satin cardigan with crystal applique, layered with a crystal embroidered tulle skirt for a wet effect. “I have worked with Versace for many years and I have always been a fan of their good looks. I reached out to the group and told them we wanted to deliver sex, in mint green, absolute with a hint of Marylin Monroe, but with an edge,” says Nelson.
