Draya Michele believes in second chances and it looks like she’s hoping Rihanna feels the same way. Back in 2020, Draya is said to have lost Savage x Fenty endorsement. The move comes after she made insensitive comments about the shooting between Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez. Despite her apology at the time, the brand quietly removed Draya from their followers and pages on Instagram. Over a year later, the influencer reveal hope rejoin the Savage x Fenty family.
“I want my @savagexfenty trade back in 2022,” Draya wrote on a mirror image posted on her Instagram Story. “It’s just a dream.”
Draya’s past comments
Draya made a comment about the shooting while interviewing on the Wine and Weed podcast. She jokes about how Megan and Tory have Bobby and Whitney’s type of love.
“I predict that they had some kind of Bobby and Whitney love that, you know, set them on this beautiful path,” says Draya. “I am here for it. I love it. I want you to like me so much that I shoot you in the foot too. ”
With a prompt from the podcast host, Draya repeated her thoughts – a second time in a “I said what I said” tone. However, she quickly changed her tune following backlash online.
“I really don’t glorify domestic violence… I was trying to say just love me deeply,” Draya tweeted at the time. “But while trying to be funny, I offended many people, including Meg. And I’m sorry.”
But, just as the brand doesn’t try to hear it, neither does Megan. She irritable with Draya, calling her a damn dog.
“Damn it’s not funny, who jokes about being shot by an asshole,” Megan tweeted in July 2020.
Draya talks about her growing up
As conversations began surfacing around Monday’s post, Draya jumped into The Shade Room’s comments section to respond.
“The point is that I am human and I make mistakes but the only difference between me and everyone is that my mistakes have been made in front of the world and my consequences,” Draya wrote. “I have certainly learned a lot from this experience and I am determined to make sure that my apology is as loud as a malicious comment. I played myself, made inflammatory comments, reprimanded and apologized All in front of you all. That is development. Increase again.”
