CNG prices in Delhi NCR have increased for the sixth time in the past four weeks. With the most recent increase, the price of CNG has increased by about 4 per kilogram. Since January of this year, the price of CNG has increased by about 8.50 per kg so far. The increase comes as a result of a sharp increase in global gas prices.
While the CNG price in Delhi today stands at 60.81 per kg, CNG rate in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad today at 63.38 per kilogram. CNG price in Gurugram has been increased 69.17 a kg, the most among Delhi NCR cities. CNG prices vary depending on local taxes such as VAT.
The CNG price increase followed Gasoline and diesel up 7.20 per liter price in less than two weeks. Oil companies began adjusting gasoline and diesel prices from March 22, ending a record 137-day hiatus.
The recent increase in CNG prices will severely affect workers. Having struggled with rising gasoline and diesel prices, CNG cars have seen a steady rise, delivering a less polluting engine that is easily available. CNG is considered a better and cheaper fuel-saving solution than gasoline and diesel. Compared to petrol or diesel, CNG is estimated to provide about 25% more mileage.
CNG cars have had a significant increase in the past few months. From April to November last year, sales of CNG cars increased by 56% with 1,36,357 units sold during that period. While vehicle owners are focusing on equipping their vehicles with aftermarket CNG kits, automakers are also launching passenger vehicles with factory-installed CNG kits.
