Ellen DeGeneres plans to reward her employees with ‘millions of dollars’ when the show ends


Things are about to get a little sweeter for the staff at The Ellen DeGeneres Show

When the curtain finally fell for the daytime talk show on May 26, it turned out Ellen DeGeneres plans to split some money among her employees! Based on The New York PostA source revealed Wednesday that the 64-year-old presenter will reward “millions of dollars” to her staff, saying:

“Ellen and [production company] Warner Bros. worked together to make sure everyone was taken care of. ”

It’s not clear how the money is being distributed, but sources say Deadline that bonuses will be issued on a sliding scale based on years of service. Employees who have been in the program for one to four years will receive two weeks of pay, employees with four to eight years below their term will receive three weeks of pay, etc. Bonuses will be limited to six weeks for longest-serving employees in the program. Based on Deadlineabout 30% of the staff have been on the show for more than 10 years, with most of the executive producers having been there for all 19 seasons!

In addition, the store reported that the workers received a letter confirming that Warner Bros. extended their health care coverage for six months after the end of the plan. They also get access to free one-year resume-building workshops, networking, and memberships for LinkedIn Learning. The parcel insiders noted that DeGeneres has “been very generous” towards employees since the talk show began in 2003. Some may claim that claim differently! Sources noted:

“It’s not even a question to pay Ellen a bonus… It’s very important to her.”

Previously, the store thought that Looking for Nemo The star has reduced gifts for her staff throughout this past season, with one source saying she “gives gifts to people including travel, watches, cars”.

Looks like she might be trying to make up for those allegations of bullying and mistreatment going around… (Although we also know that employees have actually been receiving gifts for years. So that part might not be all that new!)

In 2020, she was embroiled in accusations of a toxic work culture on set, with rumors about her being the epitome of a mean boss. All of the series brought some changes to the show, including firing top producers as executive producers. Ed Glavin, Kevin Lemanand co-executive producer Jonathan Norman, plus DeGeneres apologizes to everyone for not realizing what was happening behind the scenes. In the end, the comedian still decided ending the series after the 19th season.

But before the show ends, DeGeneres plans to pull all the stops! Each Deadlineshe will bring a star-studded group of guests, including Michelle Obama, Jennifer Garner, Channing Tatum, Serena Williams, Zac Efron, Adam Levine, Behati Prinsloo, singer Gwen Stefani, David Letterman, Diane Keaton, Kim Kardashianand Portia de Rossi. OH!
