[Warning: Potentially Triggering Content]

Woman found Moab couple slaughtered It almost feels as if she is being guided by the gods in the search for her missing friends.

In an interview with Everyone, Cindy Sue Hunter recalls what went through her mind as she drove around the La Sal Mountains of Utah on August 18, 2021, as she searched Crystal Turner and Kylen Schulteadmitting that it feels like something bigger than herself is helping her.

She told the outlet:

“I was getting ready to turn on Warner Lake, and at that point, it was like the universe was screaming at me, ‘You need to go straight and you need to be fast. Please. You need to be quick. Go straight, go straight. ‘”

Cindy remembers “catching a flash of silver” from her left side, and decided to head in that direction as she was driving past a cattle guard.

She recounted:

“So I stopped the car, backed up and said, ‘Oh, there are campers down there.’ I think I’ll find more campers where I can ask, “Have you seen the girls?”

However, as she got closer, Hunter discovered the nomad’s silver briefcase Thatmakes her realize that she “just found the girls’ campsite”.

Hunter is talking to Schulte’s father Sean-Paul Schulte on the phone as she passed the campsite. Eventually, she found the bodies of the women in a nearby creek; both were shot dead.

She remembered:

“I saw Kylen’s body in the water and I immediately turned away. And I just want to close the door inside. And I started rambling, apparently talking about the water, how beautiful it is, how beautiful the location [it was]. And I finally convinced myself that I had to look and confirm that there was a body there, because I wanted it to be logs or branches, you know? Anything but what I’m seeing… Finally I turn around and look and I say, ‘Sean, I found a body. And I couldn’t see her face because of where she was and how she gave birth. ‘”

When Schulte’s father asked whose body it was, Hunter lied to him that she couldn’t tell. She confessed:

“I know it’s Kylen. I just don’t want to admit it’s Kylen… [next] 34 days, I literally cried every day. ”

As you may know, the newlyweds were reported missing by a colleague on August 15 after both women failed to show up for their shifts. The couple have been living out of their van, moving from campsite to campsite with their pet rabbit, Ruth.

Two days earlier, Schulte told friends at Woody’s Tavern in Moab that a “frightening man” was lurking near their campsite and harassing them. She sent warning messages to other friends, saying “if something happened to them, they were murdered by him”.

Investigators have identified a range of potential suspects, but all have been cleared up. Now, there is speculation that the women were killed on the morning of August 14, with detectives confirming an audio recording from that morning has been found and includes the sound of gunfire.

Schulte’s father and private investigator Jason K. Jensen believes that the key to finding the couple’s killer may lie in the memory card of someone in the area at the time. Jensen, who was looking at satellite images from the area around the time of the murder for clues, explained:

“If someone turns on the dashcam while driving along the La Sal Mountain Loop, [in mid-August] maybe their camera [captured evidence]. ”

Schulte’s father made it clear:

“When someone is driving down La Sal Mountain Loop, what they see below is the Colorado River, Arches Park, Canyon Lens Park, Moab Canyon. So if someone was driving down that road and they were filming on their cell phone with their cell phone in their hand – not on the dashboard but in their hand – they would aim it at the canyon, towards the sunset, they have a picture of the girls’ campsite. If someone catches a glimpse of the girls’ silver Kia in the photo, and has a second vehicle, go boom. ”

Here’s hoping their killer is found and brought to justice.

The case remains open and investigators urge anyone who may have any information about the murder to call them at 435-259-8115.
