Jamie Redknapp revealed Gareth Southgate always behave in accordance with England’s obligations on match days.

The Three Lions coach made 57 caps for his national team between 1995 and 2004, attending Euros in 1996 and 2000, as well as the 1998 World Cup.

On the eve of Euro 96, several members of the England team – including Paul GascoignePaul Ince and Teddy Sheringham – pictured drinking on a night out in Hong Kong. The photos show bar staff pouring alcohol down their throats on a dentist’s chair.

Southgate was not pictured on the night out and Redknapp has confirmed that the current England manager missed the incident. “He’s a good guy, I’ll be honest,” former Liverpool captain told Sky Sports. “He wasn’t in the dentist chair, to put it that way.

“He didn’t play that night. It was a great night to be fair, he missed. He was always very studious, he loved the game, he was very tactically conscious when you play with him or against him.The right circumstances come out really good for him.

“He did well with the Under-21s, Sam Allardyce lost his job and he was the obvious one to pick. I would say he’s the first coach in a long time that has made the players look as if they were. They want to play for England.”

“I used to watch it and it was like a trifle, there were too many factions. Back when I played, there were too many factions between the Man Utd and Liverpool players.

“There’s an element of luck in the draws we’ve had, we’ve made it through a qualifying round, but you have to capitalize on it. I think the most important thing is that he made the country proud. again. It’s not always been easy for this England team.”
