Germany arrests Iranian citizen suspected of plotting terrorist attacks

German Police have arrested an Iranian citizen on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack, the country’s authorities said on Sunday.
Police in the western city of Munster said the 32-year-old man is believed to have purchased an unspecified amount of cyanide and ricin in preparation for an “Islamic motivated attack”.
According to police, the suspect was taken into custody following an investigation by the North Rhine-Westphalia Terrorist Central Office, a unit of the Düsseldorf Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Police obtained documents during a search of the suspect’s home in the city of Castrop-Rauxel and an investigation is ongoing, police said.
Another person is also in custody in connection with the case, police said, without providing further details.
