A couple’s fairytale wedding turned into a nightmare after the happy groom got too excited during the dance and ended up at A&E.
Paisley and Ravid Rogers-Tripp’s April wedding had to be postponed from April 2020 due to the coronavirus – but the couple made the most of that by having their own ‘fake’ wedding in the garden backyard.
Two years later and happiness finally comes to the 30-year-old on April 17th this year – but in the end Chef Rav enjoys a bit of a carnival and horrible acrobatics in the middle of the dance floor.
Rav slipped and fell after drinking too many espressos – but is adamant that it won’t stop him from enjoying the rest of his special day, the Mirror reports.
Rav and Paisley Rogers-Tripp have been together since 2014 according to their social media – but had to postpone their wedding in 2020 due to the coronavirus lockdown
On the original wedding day, the couple held a fake one in their garden, complete with a faux veil and some bubbly glasses.
But he told the paper that by 5am the severity of his injury was starting to become known, as he began to feel ‘a lot of pain’ and found his leg was red and swollen. .
So instead of witnessing his wedding night, Rav heads to A&E – where he discovers the horrifying news that he’s broken his ankle so badly that it requires surgery, forcing the couple to ann’t honeymoon and return to their home in Devon.
“We should have gone for a romantic walk in the Lake District,” the Paisley school’s pastor told the Mirror.
Instead, Paisley found herself taking care of her ‘sick and well’ husband much earlier than expected.
Rav needed three hours of surgery after the fall but still looks back on his wedding day to Paisley with fondness.
Rav’s wife says he is now banned from any future wedding dance floors after a messy dance performance forced them to cancel their honeymoon
The couple said they would do the whole thing again and now jokingly call the espresso “ankle breakers”.
But Paisley added her husband was ‘totally banned’ from any future wedding dance floors.
The couple’s social media shows that they have been dating since 2014 and finally got married two months ago.
After they had to cancel their wedding in 2020, Paisley and Rav held a small celebration in a garden, in which the groom wore a shirt and jacket and the bride wore all white.
Together they enjoyed a glass of bubbly and jokingly tagged the post: ‘Continuing…’
The couple’s friends were quick to congratulate them despite being in lockdown, with one piece writing: ‘Amazing. Looks perfect. I’ll drop the real thing and spend my money on something crazy! ‘
Hopefully the big day is worth it, even if it’s not completely accident-free as they’d hoped!
