How to Use Continuity Camera on macOS

The Continuity Camera is one of the coolest features of macOS Ventura. It lets you – if you’re making calls from your MacBook – replace your iPhone’s camera for the webcam. This feature can be a bit complicated to set up, but once you have all the proper settings in place, it is very easy to use.

To use the Camera continuously, make sure your hardware and software are compatible. You can use any Mac computer running iOS Ventura. Requirements for iPhones are a bit more complicated – Technically, Continuous Camera works with iPhone XR and later, but only iPhone 11 and later can use some of the more compelling features like Center Stage and Desk View, while you need version 12 or later if you want to use Studio Light. After that, whatever phone you have needs to be running iOS 16.

If you have all the right equipment, here’s how to set up and use Continuity Camera.
