Hyundai launches the Ioniq 5 electric SUV at Rs 44.95 lakhs, showcases Ioniq 6 at 2023 Auto Expo

The Ioniq 5 for India comes in a two-wheel drive format and produces 214 hp and 350 Nm of torque. It is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km / h in 7.4 seconds and has a range of up to 631 km. It is based on Hyundai’s E-GMP platform, a modular and advanced platform that can support a wide range of body types and battery capacities.

Hyundai claims that the E-GMP architecture delivers enhanced driving dynamics, improved cornering performance, and high-speed stability. The battery pack is mounted in a low position further increasing the center of gravity of the platform making it more stable. The five-link rear suspension in the E-GMP further improves ride comfort and handling.

In addition to the Ioniq 5, the Ioniq 6 EV was on display at the auto show hyundai podium too. The Ioniq 6 has a drag coefficient of 0.21, which is also the lowest in Hyundai’s entire lineup. It can charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. At launch, the EV will be offered in two configurations, a long-range version with a 77.4 kW battery pack and a low-range version with a 53 kW battery pack. The low-range version offers a maximum range of 429 km. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 EV will go on sale in North America and Europe in 2023.
