India reported 1,79,723 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing active deposits to 7,223,619.
The current recovery rate is 96.62% with 46,569 recoveries in the last 24 hours. The total number of recalls stands at 3,45,00,172.
Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said the government is committed to providing additional security coverage for healthcare workers and frontline workers. On Monday morning, he took to twitter, announcing that the effort to provide “precautionary sleep” to eligible frontlines and healthcare workers, in addition to vulnerable elderly people, started.

The Tamil Nadu capital, Chennai, was among the first to report a boost in Covid-19 vaccination for frontline workers and those over 60 with comorbidities.
In Delhi, recipients were optimistic about receiving a “precautionary dose” of the Covid-19 vaccine. “We feel fine. There are no side effects, everyone should take the medicine,” said one recipient.
This number will supplement the 151.94 doses of the crore vaccine administered to date under the immunization drive across the country, according to a government release Monday morning.
An official said that more than one healthcare worker and frontline worker, along with many citizens over 60 with comorbidities, are eligible for a third or booster dose afterward Covid Vaccine.
Eligibility for the “precautionary dose” requires that recipients complete nine months after the second dose. The Ministry of Health has previously said that the Co-Win system will send SMS reminders to those eligible to apply the precautionary dose.
On Sunday, the Medical Research Council of India said that a third dose of Covaxin is promising.
