The veteran pitcher is once again poised to thrash the Australians in a series of four Home Tests, in hopes of taking that number past the 100 mark.
Ashwin, 36, who had 449 Test hits, needs six more hits to get past the former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singhwho won 95 shots against Australia in 18 tests.
Overall, spinning legend Anil Kumble was the tallest catcher for India in matches against Australia. He won 111 shots in the 20 Tests he played against the Australian.
