Jada Pinkett-SmithThe mother of Adrienne Banfield-Norris, who is also known as Gammy, has opened up about her past of addiction, and on Wednesday, she celebrated another year of sobriety.
Gammy shared a video of herself and speak, “Today is my anniversary. My chaste day, 31 years, one day at a time, and that passage in the basic text couldn’t be more appropriate on a day like today because to me that passage is about surrender. I spent so many years in that crazy activity addiction, running in and out running out, and just that revolving door tryna put my life back together and you know that giving up is life. Fight. But it was that surrender that started the change in my life.”
She shared another video of her scene and added, “When we reached the end of the road, we found that we couldn’t function as humans, with or without drugs. We all face the same dilemma, or try our best to the bitter end, prison, organization, or death, we will find a new way to live. . Basic Text, page 87.”
Gammy talked about her heroin addiction on Red table talking. In January, they aired an episode based on residual addiction, and in the episode, Jada talks about her mother’s addiction and says, “I think I didn’t find out my mom was addicted.” heroin until I was a teenager. I could tell when my mother was tall. She couldn’t come pick me up from school on time, or she fell asleep in the middle of it.
