Jeep India has introduced a new variant of Compass and Meridian – two flagship SUV models of the American automaker. Jeep has just launched the Club Edition of the Compass SUV with prices starting from $20.99 lakh (old gallery). The Meridian Club Edition model has been launched at a price of Rs. 27.75 lakh (old gallery). While the Compass Club Edition will only have a petrol engine, the Meridian’s Club Edition will only have a diesel engine under the hood.
The main difference between the standard version of the two SUVs and the new variants lies in its design. They’re just as small as the bonnet decals and the Club Edition badges on SUVs. The Compass Club version is based on the Sport variant and will be located directly below that variant. The Meridian Club Edition is based on the Limited edition of this model. Aside from the aesthetic changes, the new variants are virtually identical inside and out with the same features on offer. However, Jeep car does not offer 4X4 technology with any of these two new variants.

Under the hood, the Jeep Compass Club Edition will be powered by the same 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine as its other variants. The engine comes with a seven-speed DCT transmission. It is capable of generating a maximum power of 161 hp and a maximum torque of 250 Nm. On the other hand, the Meridian Club Edition is equipped with a 2.0-liter diesel engine combined with a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine is capable of producing a maximum capacity of 168 horsepower and maximum torque of 350 Nm.
In terms of price, Jeep Compass Club Edition will be higher $one lakh more affordable than the Sport variant. Meridian Club Edition will cost more $two lakh less than the Limited version.
