Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon swap seats in a super healthy April Fools prank
Late-night TV viewers had a surprise when they watched Tonight’s Show Starring Jimmy Fallon or Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Friday night, both of which fall on April Fool’s Day. Two lovely hosts, who are often confused with each other (my mom didn’t even bother trying), made a monumental transformation, trading locations despite working on different networks , live 3,000 miles away, and you know, are competitors.
Jimmy Kimmelwho records his show from the El Capitan Entertainment Center in Hollywood; appears at New York City’s Rockefeller Plaza, where studio audiences expect to see Jimmy Fallon. In the opening monologue, he discusses how he and his colleagues are often confused with each other, then cuts to a pre-recorded recording of the two of them. The top cherry is a voice that comes out from David Letterman Ask them both to turn off the buzz.

When Fallon appeared to warm applause in Hollywood, he asked the crowd to please calm down, saying “you will ‘insult another Jimmy.” After explaining their swagger, he admitted it was “a distant moment” for this week’s ABC surprises, referring to Will Smith slap Chris Rock at the Oscars ceremony. After some questioning about being on the “Disney network,” the two Jimmys communicated face-to-face and immediately started throwing zing.
“A large portion of your audience almost walked away when I walked out,” Kimmel joked to Fallon.
Fallon then showed fans who thought they were going to meet a Jimmy but were surprised by the appearance of both. (Alas, no one speak“I’m seeing double, here: four Jimmys!”)

Kimmel’s guests in New York (so technically Fallon guests, if you want to understand more of this) include Hugh Jackman and Bridget Everett. Fallon’s guests in Los Angeles include Justin Timberlake and Kimmel’s Aunt Chippy.
Timberlake decided to make things more confusing by appearing as Fallon’s pretend enemy, Matt Damon. Dunkin’s jokes ensued.
