Jonathan Goodwin insists his near-death stunt in rehearsal for American’s Got Talent: The extreme that left him paralyzed was not his fault.

Britain’s Got Talent contestant, 42, appeared on the show in 2019, insisting he ‘didn’t do anything wrong’ when an Instagram fan asked him to explain the cause of the tragic accident that left him injured heavy.

Archaeologist Jonathan declined to go into details but expressed he was not to blame after he was crushed between two cars floating while trying to escape a strait jacket 30ft upside down in the air for Simon Cowell’s hit series.

In May, Jonathan’s fiancée, Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington, 48, revealed that her partner is currently using a wheelchair after he suffered some serious injuries during rehearsals for America’s Got Talent: Extreme, has since glitched.

She explained: ‘He fell 30ft and lost a kidney, broke both shoulder blades, broke both legs.

‘Third degree burns, broken vertebrae severed spinal cord and almost died. And then on the operating table, he almost died again.

‘Unless there’s some kind of stem cell surgery, or something Elon Musk is designing with a small chip, he’ll always be.’

In May, Jonathan shared an Instagram post, saying that his dog, who finally saw him again for the first time in six months, was used to him having ‘cool’ wheels fresh, new’.

He wrote: ‘Six months ago I went to a rehearsal for something and let this little hairy monkey wait patiently for me…he didn’t see his dad again until just a couple of weeks ago and when he finally did, his dad got new wheels.

‘A lot has changed in the last six months, but love is constant and I’m in love. Looking forward to my next chapter and becoming a role model. ‘

Amanda, who was married to former Sherlock actor Martin Freeman, 51, from 2000-2016, held back tears when she appeared with Jonathan on Lorraine in May.

Jonathan responded to another fan during an Instagram Q&A on Sunday who asked for his advice on ‘tough times’.

Sharing a snapshot from his hospital bed, Jonathan replied: ‘Stay in the moment.

‘Try not to project the future or care about the past. Take advantage of every day, every hour, every minute as it comes. Ask for help if you need it.’
