It’s been a long time since I’ve done this fight. When there’s a war of this magnitude, coming in and getting into production as you want, these things take time, so thanks to Egis and Alex, and Oleksandr Usyk as well. For our team, of course, Anthony Joshua, 258 Management and Robert Garcia. All very nice, all very friendly, but we are only here to win. Honestly, that’s all that matters. Last time in September was painful, when the great Oleksandr Usyk dethroned Anthony Joshua. We’re here to be comfortable but we’re here to watch this man get those awesome belts back on August 20order.
“Thank you so much and thank you to all of you who attended here today in Jeddah ahead of this big event, ‘Rage over the Red Sea’, Aug.order in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It has been a long time coming. Back in 2019, we saw Anthony Joshua rematch Andy Ruiz and reclaim his world heavyweight championship in Riyadh. It was a huge event. Of course, the world of boxing and the world of sports slowed down immediately after the COVID pandemic. Now we’re back, long overdue, and we’re excited to bring the biggest fight in heavyweight, one of world boxing, to the Kingdom in August.
“We are delighted to be joining more than just Team ‘AJ’, with Anthony Joshua, a former two-time heavyweight champion and his amazing coach Robert Garcia. Champion Oleksandr Usyk, unified heavyweight champion, former undisputed heavyweight world champion, manager Egis Klimas and his promoter Alex Krassyuk.
“We have heard a lot about the growth of boxing in Saudi Arabia, something that is very important to us as fans of the sport. It’s great to bring great fights to The Kingdom, but even better to witness the growth of boxing in The Kingdom, to see these great fighters inspire the next generation. follow. We all know Oleksandr and Anthony are two great examples of what boxing can do for a young person, how it can change and how it can shape their lives. We truly believe that boxing is a great way to shape and pattern the lives of individuals and teach them all the important things in life; discipline, respect, fitness, mental health, being part of a group and being part of a community. We feel very strongly that boxing can do that. ”
Prince Fahad bin Abdulaziz, spokesman for Skill Challenge Entertainment:
“We want to host the biggest and best events in Saudi Arabia for our people and the world to enjoy. We are living in an unprecedented era of sport development in Saudi Arabia. We are inspiring a new generation and that is what drives us. ”
Oleksandr Usyk, Unified Heavyweight World Champion:
“I am very happy to be in Saudi Arabia. It was very pleasant for me and my group. We are doing what we have to do to achieve our goal. I have never made any loud or bright speeches. To become a World Champion, all I did was work hard in my training camp and gym. That’s what I’m going to do until fight day and my boxing will make me happy.”
Alexander Krassyuk, promoter of Oleksandr Usyk:
“Hi everyone. First of all, I would like to thank the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the opportunity. It is a great honor for us to be here. While thinking about the speech for the media event. hey, I looked back at the press conference we had before the first game, and the last words were, ‘let the best man win and we’ll see you in the rematch’. We hope to see you in the rematch.
: It was such a huge event, it was an honor to be a part of it. It took us a lot of effort and will to make it a reality. Probably in February and March, we had to face the test of war in our country. We are not sure that this fight will take place. But in the end we put ourselves together, we decided to join the war, and now we are here representing our country Ukraine with pride in our hearts. I. We are representing the country here in the new destination of world sports in Saudi Arabia. Let the groomsmen win. We will see you again for the Undisputed fight. ”
Egis Klimas, manager of Oleksandr Usyk:
“First, thank you so much for having us. I want to thank Skill Challenge Entertainment, Prince Khalid, the Ministry of Sports and the Saudi Boxing Federation for having us here. I want to congratulate Matchroom for bringing this deal together with the K2 Promotion. As for the rematch, it’s very important for both of them. Anthony wants his belt back; he’s with a new team and a new coach. I personally know Robert Garcia, he has coached a few of my champions before, he is a great coach. Anthony did a great job picking out this coach. For Oleksandr, it was very important to keep those belts and go beyond. The very real possibility that the winner of this bout will claim the undisputed heavyweight belt, which would be historic. It was a very important match. August 20order It will be another historic day in the sport of boxing. “
Anthony Joshua, former unified heavyweight world champion:
“I just want to say that God is good, all the time, even when going through tough times. I want to thank everyone for coming out today. Surely the hunger is still there. As I’ve always said from the start, stay hungry. Just keep motivation high. Blips happen. Things happen in life but resilience, mental toughness and steadfastness will always prevail. We’re still on our way, we’re definitely still on our way to the Undisputed. It’s just a small blip on the road but I’m focused on the target sitting over there (only to Usyk).
“I’m focused on the goal, I’m up for it, and I’m going to be a three-time World Heavyweight Champion. With Andy Ruiz, I think a lot of people can see before the game, things are not 100%. You must be healthy, have thick skin; We take our loss as a man. When I win, I keep moving and I thank everyone. When you lose, you have to be humble as well as in defeat. We kept moving and I knew I could come back again and do what I had to.
“The game against Usyk, he squeezed my ass for a few rounds. I also had to accept that failure as a man. I am responsible for myself. I’m someone who can admit when I’m wrong and hold my head up when I’m right. The war in September, he was right, and I was wrong. Simply, I have to reverse that role on 8/20.order. I don’t like to complicate situations because genius has simplicity. Sometimes if you keep things simple you can achieve great things so I will just keep things simple, move forward and the day will come soon.
“I wish Team Usyk a successful training camp and safe travels anywhere in the world. My team too, Robert was amazing in the camp, my staff in the back also helped me in my training camp. I wish all of us good health. I wish you all a safe few weeks and I can’t wait to see you all in the stadium for a great night of Heavyweight Boxing. ”
Robert Garcia, Anthony Joshua’s coach:
“First of all, thank you all for being here. Thanks for having us. I want to congratulate Usyk and his team for all the success they’ve had. They are great people and a great team. I started coming to the UK in December, I went back and forth to the UK to work with Anthony. I see another Anthony now; the way he thinks and the way he talks. Everything he’s been working on and everything he’s been doing in the gym; I think he fought wrongly but that’s in the past. That already happened. Usyk is the better man, congratulations to him, but on 20 August we will do whatever it takes to win those titles back. I know he can do it.
“He’s the bigger man, he’s the stronger man, he has the advantage of reach, so we’re going to take advantage of all of that. By that day, I think for sure we will have a three-time world heavyweight champion. We have to be prepared for everything. Usyk is a great fighter, he has skill, reflexes, precision – he has it all. I think Anthony has the tools to beat him. We just do things in the gym.
“He wants to win again. As I said before, I have no doubt that on August 20order he will win again. With the dedication he has and the hard work he puts in in the gym, that pushes me to also put in more effort into training camp and win because I know how much he wants it. any. I want my first Heavyweight World Champion. I already have 14 world champions, he will be my 15orderbut he’s going to be my first Heavyweight World Champion and that’s big for me too. ”
Abdullah Eid, President of the Saudi Boxing Federation:
“There is a huge focus on the youth of this country. We want people to see the stars and actively participate in the sports they watch. We want our young people to participate. To have a healthy life. From coaches, to coaches and referees, from gyms that offer boxing to strength training, everything is focused on increasing engagement.”
