Suryakumar Yadav wowed the world once again by hitting his third T20I ton on Saturday, against Sri Lanka in Rajkot. Suryakumar is unbeaten 112 out of 51 balls. His rounds consisted of nine sixths and seven fourths. However, the feeling of hitting the ball in India itself is amazing Dewald Brevis because of his strong hitting ability, says he wants to learn “don’t look” shots from the South Africans when they share the dressing room of the Mumbai Indians during the upcoming IPL. “Sometimes I’m just trying to copy you (Brevis). The way you hit the ball. You have to teach me one thing, that’s how you make the no-look, six-no-look shot? I just want to learn that. from you,” Surya said in a live interaction with Brevis posted on MI TV.
Brevis replied: “I’m honored, but I’d also love to learn a lot of hitting from you. The funny thing is that the scene doesn’t – my look just happens, it’s weird but I don’t know it just happened. ” In addition to sharing a dressing room with Surya during the IPL, Brevis will also represent MI Cape Town in the inaugural edition of the upcoming SA20 in South Africa.
Surya, the world’s number one T20 hitter, praised young Brevis for his landing 162 balls from 57 in the CSA T20 Challenge game.
“Last time I saw you hit 160-165 balls from 50-55 balls in a T20 game. So now in ODI, if you hit about 100 balls, you’d score three hundred ,” said Surya.
Brevis replied, “It was like another normal day for me. It just happened. I didn’t even realize what I was doing at the time, everything just happened in an instant. Sometimes I even mentioned the non-striker I thought I would try and hit every ball in six.
“I didn’t know it just happened. It was a special round. But I have to say what you’ve achieved is incredible, congratulations on being the No. 1 T20I.”
