Liverpool are set to return to action on Tuesday, as they face Leicester The second city in space for the week.
The Reds beat Leicester on penalties after a tense Carabao Cup clash at Anfield and hope to repeat the trick when they reach the King Power.
Jurgen Klopp has been very critical of the flurry of festive fixtures, but his side were left out of action on Boxing Day, after their clash with Leeds was postponed.
Klopp has been given a timely boost ahead of his trip to the Eastern Midlands with Fabinho, Virgil van Dijk, Curtis Jones and Thiago Alcantara all back in action.
This is the Reds’ final game of 2021 before attention turns to the January window and whether an appearance is possible.
With that in mind, here are some of the latest transfer rumors surrounding the arrival and possible departure.

The report claims Liverpool have a strong interest in both players, with the aim of bringing reinforcements into their attacking options.
Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are all out of contract in the summer of 2023, and there is a feeling that Klopp could look to improve the forward line.
However, it is thought it is unlikely that the Red Devils will sanction any major January transfers, meaning it is more likely that interest could turn to a bid in the summer.
Wirtz’s transfer plan
Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller believes Florian Wirtz will stay with the Bundesliga club, despite Liverpool’s interest.
The 18-year-old has been compared to Kai Havertz and has eight goals and 11 assists in all competitions this season.
Manchester United have also been linked, but Voller thinks Wirtz’s plan is to stay with Leverkusen – at least for the rest of this season.
“Not just because of the contract situation – but also because of the trust we’ve built in him and his family, we know he’ll be in good hands here for a few more years,” Voller told German publication Bild.
“Someday, maybe that day will come and this club will be too small for Florian, similar to Kai [Havertz]. But that will still take some time.
“[My] wish Florian would stay with us for a few more years. That’s important for us and for the Bundesliga as a whole. I think that was also his plan.”
Neco and Nat started to continue
Liverpool will listen to offers for defender Neco Williams, while Nat Phillips is also expected to leave in January.
After making his debut in 2020, Williams struggled for a few minutes thanks to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s incredible form.
In total, he has only made 31 appearances in all competitions and played just 7 minutes in the Premier League this season.
Meanwhile, Nat Phillips has impressed whenever called up for the Reds following last season’s injury crisis.
According to Athletic, Williams is expected to continue next year, while the Premier League has strong interest in Phillips ahead of the January window.
