Lush’s new vending machine will operate 24/7
Lush is running a test run of a fully automated microstore. The sustainable/ethical beauty products company has opened its first pop-up vending machine in London’s Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross, serving customers 24 hours a day.
The smart ANMAC iLocker automatic dispenser will initially run for six months, offer a wide range of select products and gift sets, and run at low energy consumption.
Helen Cox, Lush’s global environmental reporting lead , making it easier for them to make ethical choices.
“These allow us to bring many of our hero products to the world without impacting the operations of a full store.”
Vending machines may not have made the huge impact expected in recent years, but they still have huge potential and especially for the beauty sector. We could see more developments as technology improves and as consumers seek more flexible options that give them 24/7 access to products they can afford.
Lush also plans to add nine new stores to its strong 919 retail sector in the year ending June 30. At the same time, it will also complete eight relocations to larger stores.
