Maharashtra political crisis: Third attempt to pull down MVA govt; Thackeray will handle situation, says NCP chief Sharad Pawar | Mumbai News


MUMBAI: NCP director Sharad Pawar on Tuesday alleged that a third attempt is being made to pull the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra but expressed confidence that the Minister Udhhav Thackeray will be able to handle the situation.

Pawar, who played a key role in forming the MVA government, said it would complete a full five-year term and rule out joining the BJP, in the event the state government collapses. He said he would meet Thackeray later in the day and would leave for Mumbai shortly after the opposition meeting on the joint presidential candidate.

“There are no differences in the coalition and all have full confidence in Thackeray’s leadership,” he told reporters.
“It is an internal matter for Shiv Sena, they will notify us after assessing the situation,” he also said.
He also said that his party will support Shiv Sena.
NCP director said Eknath Shindewho became a rebel along with several MLAs, never told them of his ministerial ambitions.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Chandrakant Patil said that the political crisis is an internal matter of the party and that the BJP has no role.
“We are watching developments keenly. I have said this before that we are not upset because after betraying us, they formed a government. It may continue smoothly but when If they have power, they become arrogant. One of their leaders will go on TV every day and make fun of them,” he said.
