Despite leading SUVs like the XUV700 or the Scorpio-N, the Bolero is still Mahindra and Mahindra’s best-selling model in India. Bolero will receive an upgrade soon and will likely be based on the Scorpio-N platform.
Mahindra and Mahindra have updated nearly all SUV models in their lineup with a new brand identity. Double top logo, first introduced during the launch event XUV700 in August last year, was added to the company’s best-selling Bolero SUV line-up. The SUV was spotted recently with a new double top emblem and is also expected to hit showrooms ahead of the festive season. The update was done first Bolero facelift version launched, expected later.
According to images shared on social media, the Bolero with the new Mahindra logo also has an updated front fascia. The grille is now slightly redesigned and the headlights have also been upgraded. The front bumper has also been redesigned to look bolder.
The Bolero three-row SUV, which is quite popular in rural India as well as in the hills, has been Mahindra and Mahindra’s best-selling model for several years now. Reaching around 7,000 sales per month, the Bolero contributes nearly a quarter of the automaker’s total SUV sales. A more urban version of the SUV was launched last year as the Bolero Neo to appeal to younger buyers.
Bolero may not be equipped with as many features as some other new generation Mahindra models. But it has maintained its core fan base for exactly the same reason – more practical and more versatile with more space to carry people or luggage. It is powered by a 1.5 liter mHawk75 turbo diesel engine. Combined with a 5-speed manual transmission, it gives a maximum capacity of 75 horsepower and maximum torque of 210 Nm.
Mahindra and Mahindra are expected to upgrade the Bolero SUV in the coming months. Expected to launch next year, the new Bolero is said to be based on the same platform as the new Scorpio-N that launched earlier this year. It is also expected to have the same ladder chassis and updated design in its new generation.
