The German was in charge at Manchester United after the Norwegian’s poor spell.

Problems on the field are one thing, but Rangnick is also dealing with a lot of fallout.

Henderson returns to Old Trafford for Solskjaer’s second full season and has his eye on David de Gea in the No 1 spot.

The chances are slim, though, and the goalkeeper is now out of England’s image.

He, like Bailly and Henderson, has found opportunities hard to come by at Old Trafford although Solskjaer insists Lingard has a “big role”.
