Marvel Snap PvP Battle Mode Coming Tuesday

Finally, you’ll soon be able to take out your friends in Marvel Snap. The developer of Monday Dinner has announced that the new feature, called Battle Mode, will launch on Tuesday, January 31. A teaser image accompanying the announcement shows Squirrel Girl against Starting with Arnim Zola, both are popular cards in the meta.
Like previous details, Battle Mode will allow you to battle your friends (or arch-enemies) by sharing codes to start matches. Each player starts with 10 health bars and snapping their fingers deals double damage. Since launch, Marvel Snap has only supported PvP with random opponents on the ladder.
Monday Dinner has also previously mentioned that Battle Mode will come with the Series Drop. That system will drop select cards from Series 5 to Series 4 and some from Series 4 to Series 3. That will make them easier to obtain over time. Monday Dinner is also planning to add new “First Edition” badges that will mark cards with a small label if you get them before they’re relegated. The studio doesn’t have a timeline for this feature yet, but it says it plans to apply the label to your collection for now, so you’ll keep your bragging rights.
Other features are being worked on, following last year’s roadmap, including a Smart Deck tool to help you complete your deck, as well as a no-ranked game mode. The studio is also exploring ideas like Guilds, separate Infinity Ranking leaderboards, collectible emojis and emoticons, Mythical variants, and PC controller support. . These later ideas are currently only in the concept stage and may or may not be in the game.
