On Thursday, Meghan Markle turn 41, and follow People, she is celebrating privately with her husband, Prince Harry, and their children, Archie and Lili Mountbatten-Windsor, in California. But it’s likely that before Meghan woke up she had well-wishes from her husbands back in the UK in the morning, Prince William and Kate Middleton wish her a happy birthday from their Twitter account and about five minutes later, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, do the same.
The Kate and William account said, “Happy birthday to the Duchess of Sussex!” Camilla and Charles added a bubble emoji to their post, which read, “Happy Birthday to the Duchess of Sussex.”
Both accounts use pictures of Meghan attending Thanksgiving for the Platinum Jubilee for Queen Elizabeth at the Church of St. Paul. Using social media publicly to celebrate birthdays has become a royal tradition, and they often post family photos or photos at a recent formal royal event. Meghan’s presence at the ceremony was her first appearance at an official royal engagement since Commonwealth Day, just before Harry and Meghan gave up their senior royal roles and moved to North America.
Last year, Meghan celebrated her birthday by launch Archewell mentoring program called 40X40, where she asked 40 celebrity friends to mentor women trying to get back into the workforce after the pandemic for 40 minutes each. She announced the show in a funny video with Melissa McCarthy, which also features Harry juggling through the window at the couple’s Santa Barbara home. Princess Eugenie, Adele, Gloria Steinem, José Andrés, and Stella McCartney also on the list of advisors.
