Mercedes-Benz joins Aura Blockchain Consortium

Mercedes-Benz has joined the Aura Blockchain Consortium. The German conglomerate becomes the fifth founding member and the only car manufacturer, to join the global blockchain platform dedicated to the luxury industry, founded by major companies LVMH, Prada, Cartiera part of Richemont and the OTB Team.
Launched last year, thanks to a secure digital format, the consortium relies on blockchain technology to ensure transparency and traceability of products and product sourcing, thereby increasing customer trust.
With the advent of the metaverse, the corporation has also accelerated its activities in developing a technical roadmap to include various NFT solutions (non-fungible tokens), always in line with the concept of cooperation concept “of luxury brands for luxury brands”.

Speaking at a conference, Stefano Rossothe head of BVX (Brave Virtual Xperience), the cluster created by OTB to develop projects and content specifically for the virtual world, also welcomed the arrival.
“Mercedes-Benz is the first automaker to join us. They are very technical and will help us push boundaries in the alliance,” he said.
